Metaphysical Links - Bloating
Bloating is something that we have all experience at one point or another — however, some of us experience more than others.
There can be many causes for bloating, food/diet, stress, hormones — in my experience it is more often than not multi layered, so best to approach it in that way too.
From a metaphysical perspective bloating can be linked to unresolved or unprocessed anger an trying to find blame outside of ourselves. This creates and fuels a cycle of victimhood which in turn gives away our control and power in integrating and processing the emotions that are afflicting us. It can also point to a pattern of worry and fear, where we are in constant self doubt and self sabotage which all comes down to not feeling good enough.
If you resonate with this, ask yourself -
How can I find more self responsibility in my emotional processing and in my life?
Where am I spending a time in fear thought loops?
How can I close out this cycle and close this loop to move to a more empowered and positive space mentally and emotionally?
How can I shift my thoughts and beliefs to better support me in the process of letting go and moving on?
I also invite you to work with these two acupressure points to relieve the physical, emotional and energetic symptoms of the bloating.
Large intestine 4 point - Located in the web space between the thumb and the index finger, follow the bone of the index finger to locate, it will likely feel tender here.
Stomach 36 point - Located about 3 fingers width below the knee, you will feel a small notch in the tibia at this level.

The Myth around Suffering
Our traumas, wounds and experiences are unique to us but suffering is not — it is universal.
We cannot go through life without experiencing pain.
Life is made up of polarities — To be alive is to experience the full spectrum of feelings and emotions.
It is through our pain and suffering that we are offered the gateways to growth and evolution.
When we resist these feelings or try and hide them away, suffering becomes long term instead of what it is meant to be, a gateway.
The way we can work through these times for our greater growth is to take the shame out of our individual experiences — we are designed to co-regulate and to share, it is through doing this we break cycles and gain awareness and perspective.
We need to find the right people to have in our inner circle to share the our truth with, this circle can change throughout our life, the key is to notice when you have stopped sharing and are stuck in a shame or suffering loop and to take steps to call in that connection again.

Metaphysical Links - Insomnia
Our sleep is so important for so many of our physical, emotional and cognitive functions, when it goes out the window we can be left feeling scattered, fearful and anxious.
If you suffer from sleepless nights on a regular basis I invite you to ask yourself these questions —
What area of your life are you worrying about and playing over/dissecting situations in your mind?
Where are you feeling unsafe to release control or unable to let go?
Are you harbouring feelings of guilt or resentment?
My tips —
Kidney 1 point — one of the most grounding points in our body also a great spot to absorb essential oils.
Pericardium 6 point — to release that tightly bound control and ‘on guard’ feeling in our body.
Lavender oil — has a sedative effect on our system and also creates feelings of safety and relaxation in our body.
Talking to your body — Treating it like the intelligent force that it is, communicating with it by saying internally that it is safe to sleep tonight can be powerful.
Journalling — Mind dumping before bed or when you can’t sleep can be helpful or pondering and answering the questions/themes above.

Metaphysical Links - Eczema
Just like most other skin issues, Eczema can often indicate internal frustration and irritation manifesting on the outer.
It can also indicate too much heat or Yang energy in our body which can dehydrate our skin and lead to this aggravation.
Personally, I find that it can be a combination of what is going on internally for me emotionally and physically.
Just like our Sinuses, Eczema is also linked to our Spleen and Stomach Meridians.
It is best to approach Eczema with a multi layered approach —
Emotionally — Asking yourself why you may be feeling angry or a sense of stagnation in your life? Or where you may be feeling like you are unaccepted and need to hide or suppress
Energetically — You can use Large Intestine 4 point in the pad of skin between your thumb and the index finger to bring about anti inflammatory properties.
Also, I suggest working with homeopathy if that is available to you. My go to is @carlymaree for this!
Physically — Noticing what it could be in your diet that is contributing to your symptoms, for me it is too much dairy, for others it could be too many spicy, oily or pungent foods.
Topically, you can ask your pharmacist for a light cortisone based cream or I like to use QV or Eco Sonya glory oil.
Like everything that manifests on a physical level, eczema is the body’s way of trying to communicate to us that something is out of balance.

Metaphysical Links - Our sinuses
Our sinuses are largely linked with out Stomach Meridian and what we are choosing to work through or ignore, which can be leading to irritation, frustration, fear and insecurity.
Chronic sinus problems can be attributed to unexpressed feelings of rage, anger or sorrow.
I encourage you to reflect on where you may be holding onto deep sadness or guilt from the past.
When we still have an energetic cord or attachment to past situations or people that caused us stress or anxiety we essentially have not fully completed or closed out a stage or cycle, therefore not leaving room to call in the new in our life.
If you liken this to having many tabs open and the feeling you get when you see your computer with a million windows open.
Blocked sinuses block our ability to take in fresh air and fresh oxygen with ease which is a metaphor for a stress on receiving.
We must remember that what we aren’t actively changing we are essentially choosing.

The Energetics of Creation
Surrendering our vision to the universe does not mean that we put in an order and sit and wait — it also doesn’t mean that we give up when that order/thing doesn’t arrive in the time frame we think it will or the way in which we expected it.
All creation starts with a VISION, then a BELIEF that we can have that vision and then a series of ACTIONS to get us there.
We need to HOLD THE VISION and STAY THE COURSE.
Embody the energy and the belief that you are already the person who has the life/thing that you desire, it is the ONLY way.
A lot of us live and move from a layered space of victim consciousness, this isn’t a criticism, this is simply because our ego is very much geared to keep us safe and create stories that make sense for us.
It is a constant work in progress but some simple shifts that I have made this year have helped me to move beyond ego consciousness and into body consciousness - this has made me feel much more powerful in terms of what I have the capacity to change and create in my life.
Pulling tarot for a monthly theme, to be aware of what my blind spots may be for the month and where I need to place my attention or shift my attention
Working with my own Kinesiologist on a monthly basis to work even deeper into my subconscious and to gain clarity around each stage, each layer, to be able to process and integrate
Asking myself, “what is this situation showing me?” or “what has this come to clear?”
Weekly check ins with myself, sorting my to do list to make sure I know what will actually “move the needle” in terms of the growth I want to make
Being realistic with my time, not over scheduling or over committing or gas lighting myself into feeling like I should be doing “more”
Bringing on an accountability partner
Asking for less advice and tuning into my own process before sharing with others
Creating a vision board that you can look at each day to connect in with the energy of your vision
The list goes on, but my wish is for you to adopt any number of these tools to empower your process as well.
When we work with our energy and not against it, we truely are limitless

Large Intestine Meridian Flush
This is a little technique you can use when you are feeling an inability to let go, physically or emotionally.
Working with the Large Intestine which is the transporter of the inessential out of the body in order to make room to receive the new. It is responsible for releasing the energy of old belief systems which is necessary for the conscious creation of change in our life.
We start by activating the end of the meridian either side of the nose, massaging here for a few breaths, setting your intention internally to release that which no longer serves you in the form of thoughts, emotions, energy or physically as waste.
Then move down to the space between the thumb and the forefinger, spending some time here massaging — making sure your shoulders are soft and that you are breathing deeply to aid the release.
Moving along the side of your index finger to the side of the nail bed closest to the thumb side. Pulsing here for a few breaths.
You can continue as many times as you like until you feel a shift, always going from nose to finger and not the opposite way to aid in the flush.

Bhramari Breath - Bumble Bee Breath
Bumble Bee Breath - also known as Bhramari Pranayama.
Our own hum has a beautiful soothing effect on our nervous system due to the location of our vagus nerve and voice box.
In this breath soft humming sound like that of a bumble bee is made on the exhale.
The hand position is called Sanmukhi Mudra which works to shut off the mind from the five senses which brings us into a state of Pratyahara (sense withdrawal)
Place the thumbs over the flaps of the ears and press them to create a seal. Place the index and middle fingers over the eyes, rest the ring fingers on the nostrils and the pinky fingers on the lips. This mudra unites the nerves in the hands with the tri-geminal nerves of the face (tri geminal is one nerve that branches out to the maxilliary mandibular and optical nerves of the face)
Keeping your mouth closed inhale then exhale slowly and evenly while making a deep and steady humming noise. Try to keep the it smooth, even and continuous.
Practice for around 5-10 rounds.
Perfect for before bed, it can be done seated or laying down.

Metaphysical Links - Our Feet and Ankles
Our feet and ankles represent our ability to move forward literally and spiritually in life.
If you are suffering from foot or ankle injury or issues it is a good reflection to consider where you are currently in life and your ability to move toward what you desire or away from what no longer serves you.
Injuries or ailments on your right foot can indicate that you are feeling overloaded with responsibilities from the external world which is bringing about emotions like anger, irritation, frustration and rage.
The left foot can signify that you are feeling disconnected from your needs and that you have too much focus on the outside world. There may be an imbalance between giving and receiving.
The call to action is to tune into your intuition to clear the confusion and ground yourself either with your breath or get outside into nature.

Our Bladder Meridian
Our Bladder Meridian is our emotional barometer.
It is our largest meridian, running all the way from our inner eyes, over our head, down our neck, back, legs and ending on the outside of our little toes — housing 67 acupressure points.
When blocked or stagnant you may physically experience headaches and backaches or bladder related issues such as UTIs.
Emotionally you may feeling quiet stuck in sadness, potentially ruminating on a grudge toward someone from your past consciously or unconsciously. This meridian is often related to deep seated emotions.
Today I invite you to find Bladder 10 - just below the hollow under the occipital bone, where your head meets your neck. Stay here massaging for 30 seconds taking long slow deep breaths.
This point will reconnect you with your body when you are feeling caught in your mind, it also connects you with your inner strength and self confidence and eases fear.
Physically it can help release any heaviness or dizziness in the head or stiffness in the neck and shoulders.

Metaphysical Links - PCOS, Poly Cystic Ovary Syndrome
Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is a hormonal imbalance through year reproductive years however it also has some very interesting emotional links.
What is your relationship to your feminine side?
Do you feel blocked when trying to connect with this side of yourself?
Have you had periods of time in your life where it has felt safer or necessary to be more in your masculine?
How was this feminine/masculine balance modelled to you by the significant female role models in your life?
Do you often take on the role of supporter to your friends and family?
Explore these conversations within yourself, in this day in age we are very geared into our masculine as females but our femininity is an important strength that we must work with to be able to receive from life as well, otherwise we are blocking the flow of polarity/duality within ourselves.
Amazing shifts can happen when you start working with your femininity and seeing it as your super power.

Our Liver Meridian
Our Liver Meridian is associated with the element of Wood, paired with the Gall Bladder Meridian.
It is where our unexpressed anger, rage, frustration lives — this is not to be feared however, this if often our greatest channel to some of the biggest transformations.
Anger is an iceberg emotion, so naturally there are often deeper emotions to be explored underneath like pain, grief, guilt and sadness.
When left ignored it can lead to things like stagnation, despair and helplessness.
Your Tool -
Today I invite you to find Liver 14, which is the last point on your Liver Meridian.
Find it in line with your nipple on each side in the 6th intercostal space. You will know when you locate it as it is often a bit tender.
Sit here with a medium to firm massage pressure for 30-90 seconds breathing deeply.
This will encourage your Liver chi to move upward through the meridian as it should. Notice what comes up for you here.
Feel the energy in motion and the emotions that arise. Do this for the next 3 days and see what surfaces for you, these are your clues to your next “liver” transformation.

What is Kinesiology?
The question I get asked the most!
“What is Kinesiology?”
Founded by a Chiropractor in the 70s and further developed into what it is today with much research and trial.
This Chiropractor was onto something when he noticed the connection between repetitive pain/tension patterns in the body and emotional links.
At the basis - Kinesiology is using muscle testing to gather feedback from your body about where and what is being held in your body and your subconscious mind that is in need of shifting.
The body is always trying to reach a healthy state of equilibrium but with these stresses and blocks it can struggle, this is why Kinesiology is so powerful, it gives your body and voice and your subconscious mind the chance to reprogram to empower you to reach your happiest most fulfilled and healthy state.
This work is powerful.
Still curious, reach out for a discovery call.

Metaphysical Links - Fibromyalgia
Fibromyalgia is a medical syndrome which causes pain throughout the body, often paired with fatigue and mental fogginess.
Metaphysically it is linked with emotions such as control, ego, stubbornness and guilt.
This may be conscious or deeply subconscious for you — you may fee like a victim or circumstance and have deep seated rage at this mistreatment.
Unconsciously you may have learned at a young age that pain = attention.
As the pain appears to result from processes in the central nervous system it can indicate that your survival instincts, fight/flight/freeze/fawn response has been activated which has made you feel like it is easier to stay in this familiar pattern of old patterns and ways of thinking than to move forward.
It can be as simple as your love language not being the same as the ones that brought you up, so not ever feeling loved in the way that you needed to be.
Themes to explore -
How do you feel about yourself?
What is your relationship to the outside world?
Do you feel safe in your surroundings? Or in the world?
Where do you feel safest?
How can I find more safety in my life so that my muscles can relax?

Metaphysical Links - TMJ, Jaw Pain
Our TMJ (Temporomandibular joint) acts like a sliding hinge connecting our jaw to our skull.
Pain and discomfort in this joint is often linked with being unable to express ourselves with words in a way that feels safe and fulfilling.
This may be boundaries that you wish you set or simply communicating how you feel and what you desire in life to those around you.
Things to look at here -
What communication style was encouraged growing up?
Are you still communicating in that way?
Is this still serving you?
Are you “biting back” your words a lot? And who are you with?
In what settings do you catch yourself grinding your teeth or clenching your jaw?
These are your clues.

A Tool for your Little Ones
A little tool to share with your young ones who are learning to navigate their big feelings in the world.
Slowly connecting the thumb to meet the pad of each finger beginning at the index finger, working out to the pinky finger.
Stating Peace, Begins, With, Me at each finger and repeating 5 or more times.
My work with kids is all about empowering them with their own tool kit so that they feel safe in their bodies, knowing that they can handle big emotions as they come and go.

Metaphysical Links - Neck and Shoulder Pain - Headaches
Headaches that start in the shoulders are very linked with the Kidney Meridian and our Stomach Meridian (Neck extensors)
Shoulders are metaphysically all about carrying the weight of the world, feeling overwhelmed with stress and worry.
Emotions like anxiety, fear, dread and distrust can sit in the upper trapezius muscle linked to our Kidney meridian causing us to hold tension that leads to a headache.
It may loosen with a massage or a chiropractic adjustment but until there is a shift in perspective and a change made around what initially caused this pattern of fear to come online, the tension may become a pattern.
Where are you focusing on the ‘worst case scenario’?
Are you prioritising fun?

Metaphysical Links - Skin Issues
Our skin is our largest organ of our body, it is what protects us from the world.
Often skin complaints like a rash are internal irritation, anger or frustration manifesting through the skin.
Acne or pimples can be linked to feeling like you don’t belong and putting up barriers to protect yourself.
They can also be linked with self judgement, self criticism and lack of self confidence.
If you have had persistent skin issues and changing your diet, drinking more water and even treating it topically doesn’t seem to be keeping it better, it could be time to explore some of these metaphysical links.
Where are you trying to hide yourself/keep yourself safe?
What is causing you an intense amount of frustration or angst internally?
